Mrs. Dixie Lee Hendricks, 80, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Ind.
She was born Jan. 25, 1941 in Sheridan, a daughter of the late Vern Edward and Mary Frances (Lovell) Barnes.
She was a life-long resident of Boone County and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1959. She received her nursing degree in 1962 from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.
On Oct. 7, 1962, she was married to Harold Lewis Hendricks at the Gadsden Church of Christ. He passed away on March 28, 2009.
Mrs. Hendricks was employed as a registered nurse at Witham Memorial Hospital and later at the Koala Hospital in Lebanon before retiring in 1995.
She was a member of the Church of Christ at Gadsden.
Mrs. Hendricks was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, having family meals and playing practical jokes. She had great joy when spending time with her family.
Survivors include three children, Kimberly (Randy) Rose of Lebanon, Jeffery (Rachel) Hendricks of Whitestown and Shelly (Emory) Brown of Whitestown; six grandchildren, twins Tucker and Boone Rose of Lebanon, Brooke Hendricks of Whitestown, Bailey Hendricks of Whitestown and twins Riley and Sidney Brown of Whitestown
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Chuck Barnes, and her sister, Jane Cain.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St. in Lebanon. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
