A fund-raiser at Boxley Cabin in Veterans Park has been set by the Sheridan Historical Society for Saturday. A ham and bean supper begins at 4 p.m. and ends at 6:30 p.m. and the cost is only $8.
Participants will get a healthy heaping helping of hot and hardy beans and ham, served with cornbread and fried potatoes and a drink. Carry out will be available as well, but attendees can bring a lawn chair and listen to the Thorntown Bluegrass Pickers.
Dress appropriately for the weather, but if it rains the supper will be postponed.
Money raised will be used to offset the operating expenses of the Historical Society’s Museum at 315 S. Main St. The museum is open to the public on Tuesday and Friday afternoons of each week from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and also by appointment (call (317) 758-5054).
