The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra invites audiences to join in on “A Whole New Summer” as a bold lineup and audience perks are announced for the 2019 summer season. Kroger Symphony on the Prairie is expanding to more than 30 concerts in its 38th year, and several new amenities will be available to patrons at the Conner Prairie Amphitheatre.

This beloved summer tradition began in 1982, when Joshua Bell made his professional orchestra debut (at age 14!) in the inaugural concert. In the decades that followed, Symphony on the Prairie has grown from a handful of performances to a three-month celebration of the diverse musical tastes of Central Indiana.

“We’re bringing an enhanced summer series to the Prairie while maintaining the beloved traditions our patrons have come to expect,” said Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra CEO James Johnson. “The ISO is looking forward to seeing plenty of familiar faces – from families who have been attending for decades – together with the new faces of those who have not yet experienced our performances, but are energized by our new concert offerings.”

With concerts including Motown legend Smokey Robinson, Scotty McCreery, Trombone Shorty, Kenny G, En Vogue, and 10 fantastic orchestra concerts (including the always popular Star-Spangled Symphony), there is something for every musical taste on this year’s lineup on the Prairie.

New in 2019: Screens!

Get ready for an entirely new feel at the Conner Prairie Amphitheatre – we’re adding three large LED screens to enhance your concert view! Every location on the lawn is enhanced with 8-meter screens on either side of the stage, and a 6- meter screen farther back on the lawn near the playground area.

New in 2019: Reserved Seating and Tables

For fans looking to get up close and personal with their favorite acts, select concerts will feature a reserved seating section located on the area directly in front of the stage. This is your chance to guarantee your spot right in front of the action! Up to 250 seats will be available in this exclusive area. Our table seating is a favorite for many patrons at the Prairie, and the experience is getting even better this year! To enhance the evening for both our reserved seating and table areas, there will be exclusive restrooms and bar service available only to patrons in these sections. Stay tuned for more details!

Reserved seating tickets and table reservations go on sale April 1 at 10 a.m.

Reserved parking, providing easy-access parking, is available for individual concerts. Prices vary from $20 to $50. If purchasing reserved parking for 10 or more performances, reserved parking passes are only $25 per performance. Reserved parking passes will go on sale April 1 at 10 a.m.
